When she’s not working, Jill still enjoys scrapbooking along with reading, traveling out west, and watching Shark Tank and The Profit where she picks up tips on business from the entrepreneurs on the show. She lives with her husband, twin boys, and Laci, their Cavachon (a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon).
April Riethman, Professional Bookkeeper, has been with Bookkeeping Etc., Inc., for 18 years and performs bookkeeping and consulting functions for various clients, including property managers, business coaches, real estate professionals, and others. She thoroughly enjoys seeing the transformation clients go through as they start to feel less worried and more organized about their bookkeeping processes.
April helps clients access their bookkeeping files in the clouds, regardless of whether they are in the next room or the next state. With their books taken care of, clients feel more free to use their time to do the work they love.
A native of Montgomery County, Maryland, April is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She lives in Damascus with her husband and two boys. When she is not working, she enjoys scrapbooking and the beach. You might also find her having lunch in a quaint café or creekside, enjoying nature.
Lisa Reyers received her BBA from Baker College in 2012. She has worked as a bookkeeper for a large assortment of businesses including several construction companies, rental facilities, property management firms, small repair shops, and even a Christmas tree farm. She was born and raised in a small town on the shores of Lake Michigan where she continues to live with her husband and daughter. When not working, she enjoys getting together with friends, playing cribbage and euchre, enjoying the natural beauty of Michigan and having movie nights with her family.
Three fun facts about me: (1) When I was little and got any sort of money, I spent it on index cards, paper clips, rubber stamps with ink pads, and file folders so we could play “office” instead of “house” or “school.” I obviously had an early calling as both of my parents worked in factories and I had never even been in an office. (2) My husband and I had our Ancestry DNA done and spent a bunch of time researching our ancestors. I am the 24th great-granddaughter of Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland. (3) I am a 23-year survivor of cancer.
Lindsey Reyes Savage, Professional Bookkeeper, Lindsey has worked in small accounting departments, acquiring valuable knowledge and practical experience. She stays current in industry trends through webinars and is working on her certification with QuickBooks Online.
Lindsey was born and raised in California. She enjoys doing volunteer work with her husband, playing music, singing and experiencing new cultures.
Patty Carson, Accounting Consultant, is Advanced Certified in QuickBooks, Certified in QuickBooks Online, Xero and Bill.com. She enjoys all things technology and cloud-related. Working with small business clients for over 30 years, she still finds it her passion. Patty does Training, Software Consulting and all things bookkeeping to make life easier for her clients. Sandi Popowitz, Professional Bookkeeper, brings over twenty years accounting and bookkeeping experience to the Bookkeeping, Etc team. Working with many diverse, small to mid-size companies in the fields of retail, restaurant management, medical/dental, health and wellness consulting, and non-profits, Sandi enjoys providing accounting support to enable her clients to feel at ease with their operations and to focus on growing their companies.
Sandi holds a BA as well as Masters Degree from the University of Maryland. Married with two grown children and an adorable grandson, Sandi enjoys group exercise classes, biking, theater, reading, and time spent with family and friends.
Karen Bertling, Administrative Assistant, has over twenty years of administrative and technical experience, providing support to various government and private clients. She provides administrative support to the bookkeepers so that they may more efficiently use their time to serve their customers. Karen resides in Frederick, Maryland, with her husband and son, and their dog, Sampson. In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking, and other outdoor activities, traveling and learning new things. Karen is an avid sports fan of local teams, and especially enjoys watching the Orioles games.
Lara Johnston received her BA in Accounting and Business Administration from Monmouth College in 2007. She has worked as an accountant for a large assortment of businesses including several construction companies, non-profit and profit companies. She was born and raised in the rural Midwest region of Illinois, where she lives today with her Fiance and two daughters. When not working, her and her family work on their family farm, enjoying country living and traveling.
